Shawley Starters
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new entrants to school in September. We just need to be prepared to do things a little differently this year due to Covid-19! We are using this page of our website to share information about starting school at Shawley as well as some videos for parents to share with their children to help them feel a part of Shawley life.
Instead of our usual Welcome Evening for parents of Reception children, here is a PowerPoint with information about starting school.

School Meals
You can see the termly school menu via the link to Surrey's school meal website here. Children can also choose to have packed lunches if they wish, but these do need to be healthy and must not include nuts due to allergies or sweets and fizzy drinks as we are a Healthy School. The children all eat together in the main hall.
Payment for school meals must be paid in advance, using our online payment method Scopay, information on how to register will be provided to you once your child has started with us. For ordering and administration purposes, we do ask that parents commit to either school meals or a packed lunch from home on a full half term basis. Children of parents who receive support payments such as Income Support or Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance may be entitled to free school meals and milk. Please contact the School Office for further information.
Water is always available for children to drink at lunchtime and break times. Children may bring a bottle of water to school to drink during lesson times. No juice or squash is allowed.
Cool Milk
You may also purchase a carton of milk for your child to drink during the morning which is provided by Cool Milk. Here is a link to the Cool Milk website. Milk is provided free for all under 5s, however, you will still need to register with Cool Milk if you would like your child to receive milk.
Before & After School Care
Shawley works in partnership with an Ofsted registered, private provider of before and after school care, called Club Vale.
They are based in separate buildings between the playground and the Early Years Unit, where they provide a breakfast club from 7.30am until 8.40am (providing children with a healthy breakfast before taking them to school) and an after school care (which begins straight after the end of the school day and runs until 6pm where a snack and light tea is provided).
In addition to this Club Vale offer a single hour of child care service charged at a lower rate than that for a full session. This is available from the end of the school day through to 4.30pm.
If you would like more information about them including how to register, please feel free to contact them:
